Location: York Racecourse
The annual IA Practioners' Event is the second largest event in GCHQ's IA event's portfolio. The 2012 event was held in York from 29 February to 1 March.
Two major milestones were achieved at this event. Firstly, BeCrypt's Disk Protect product became the first recipient of a certificate under CESG's Commercial Product Assurance (CPA)
scheme. Secondly, David Johnston from Mass became the first officially 'certified' IA Professional when APMG, one of three certification bodies
accredited by CESG, awarded him his certificate.
There were over 600 delegates and vendor representatives present, and the event incorporated the Police IA Forum (PIAF) and IT Security Officers' Forum (ITSOF).
The event included speakers from CESG, CESG Assurance Services, CPNI, Government Procurement Service, IA Professionalisation, Leeds City Council, MoD, OCSIA, the Student Loan Company and several of the industry sponsors.
There were six workshops run by CESG, covering topics such as the Government Protective Marking Scheme review, Pan Government Accreditation of Shared Services, IA Professionalisation and CESG assurance Services.
