“One of our key aims is to make the UK one of the most secure places in the world to do business. Currently, around six per cent of the UK’s GDP is enabled by the internet and this is set to grow. But with this opportunity comes greater threats. Online crime, including intellectual property theft, costs the UK economy billions each year. So we must take steps to preserve this growth, by tackling cyber crime and bolstering our defences, to ensure that confidence in the internet as a way of communicating and transacting remains.”
The Rt. Hon. Francis Maude MP, Minister for the Cabinet Office
IA12 is the Government’s flagship event for Information Assurance and Cyber Security decision makers from across central government, the wider public sector, industry and academia. This event provides the essential forum for taking forward information risk management in government and across the private sector organisations comprising the critical national infrastructure.
IA12 marks the first anniversary of the launch of the National Cyber Security Strategy. Focusing on the four key objectives comprising this strategy, the event will engage directly with the Government’s ambition to make the UK one of the most secure places in the world to do business.
If you are responsible for the delivery of IA or Cyber Security in Government or the critical national infrastructure, this is your opportunity to engage in debate and share experiences with senior colleagues from across government, industry and academia. |
