CESG has been working hard to build on the good reputation CHECK already
has with government departments and the private sector by actively
promoting the CHECK Scheme on a number of fronts. We have addressed
the Annual Government Accreditors Conference, the IT Security Officers
Forum and the BS7799 Special Interest Group. We are a major contributor
to the Security Accreditation Review Committee (SARC), led jointly
by CESG and Security Service, and to the General IA Products and Services
Initiative (GIPSI), led by the Central Sponsor for IA and CESG. In
addition we have, and continue to do so, promote the Scheme at many
high-profile conferences, and through direct contact with a wide range
of government departments. It is our hope that, by the end of 2004,
the profile of the CHECK Scheme across the whole of the public sector
will have been raised significantly with a consequential increase
in the amount of work requested by government departments under the
terms of CHECK.
We set high standards for CHECK service providers, against which all
new applicants are measured. Government departments employing CHECK
Service Providers can therefore be assured that they are selecting
a highly qualified and suitably experienced team and consequently
will receive a high quality service. The CHECK Service Providers,
meanwhile, can be confident that they are part of a professional service,
which can and will be held in high regard in government and the private
sector.
