What is the Intelligent Customer Mechanism (ICM)?
A collaborative way of working which enables the UK Government to
manage its information in an assured way
Why is the ICM needed?
- There is no joined-up, cross-Government means of acquiring trusted
IA
- The traditional approach to IA procurement is far too slow
- Neither Government nor Industry can understand the aggregated
IA need or necessary provision
- The external landscape is one of rapid change, resulting in
increased threat
- The UK Government needs to maintain a sovereign IA sector
