Introduction

Listed below are the products and service which CESG provide.

The brief descriptions below are for guidance only and full details are available by following the links below or on the left hand menu.

Government Computer Emergency Response Team (GovCertUK)

IACS has been designed to respond to the increasing complexity of IT products and systems.

IACS also provide a range of services and schemes some of which are available below (see IACS page for full list of services).

CAPS helps private sector companies to develop cryptographic products for use by HMG and other appropriate organisations. CAPS links the cryptographic knowledge of CESG (the National Technical Authority for Information Assurance) with the private sector's expertise and resources.

CLAS is the CESG Listed Adviser Scheme - a partnership linking the unique Information Assurance knowledge of CESG with the expertise and resources of the private sector.

Following a fundamental reassessment of CESG Assurance Services influenced by current threats to HMG IT systems and valuable feedback from customers, the CESG Tailored Assurance Service was introduced in June 2007.

The CESG Claims Tested Mark (CCTM) scheme provides a government quality mark for the public and private sectors based on accredited independent testing, designed to prove the validity of security functionality claims made by vendors. In more colloquial terms, the CCTM is designed to assure public bodies that a product or service does 'what it says on the box'.

IT health checks identify vulnerabilities in IT systems and networks which may compromise the confidentiality, integrity or availability of information held on that IT system.

Common Criteria & ITSEC
Under the UK Information Technology Security Evaluation and Certification Scheme, managed by CESG, the security features of IT systems and products are tested independently of suppliers to identify logical vulnerabilities.
