Operating Model for the CESG Assurance Service (Telecoms) Scheme
The CAS(T) scheme is owned by CESG, who maintains the scheme security procedures for telecommunications, in conjunction with the UK Accreditation Service (UKAS).
The scheme is operated by UKAS, and uses UKAS-accredited Certification Bodies.
Any organisation wishing to become a CAS(T) Certification Body must apply directly to
UKAS to gain accreditation.
Any telecoms provider wishing to gain scheme certification must contract with one of the accredited
Certification Bodies. The scheme governance flows down directly from CESG to UKAS, then to CBs and finally to telecoms providers.
Any organisation wishing to become a scheme CB must apply directly to UKAS to gain accreditation.
Any telecoms provider wishing to gain scheme certification must contract with one of the UKAS accredited CBs. Scheme CBs can be identified by referring to the accreditation schedules held online by UKAS (See
